As xorg-server version bumped in Fedora 12, nvidia xorg driver does not work. It gives' unresolved symbol error in Xorg.0.log and doesn't get loaded.
There still time for Fedora 12 release, but just wanted to notify this problem here. |

Fedora 12 ships with a prerelease X server that is not officially supported by the NVIDIA driver, though there is unofficial support in the latest beta release. The current X.Org release manager told me that the ABI will be considered stable when the first xserver 1.7 release candidate comes out, which just happened this morning at 3:30 am. The next driver release should have official support for the new server.

Great. I hope new driver release won't lag. I suppose beta driver has debug bits that would tamper driver performance. Thanks for coordinating with Xorg project.

Do you plan to support new xserver in 96.43.xx drivers?

Running Fedora 12 release on a Dell Latitude D630, driver version 190.42 working with no major hassles once I got the install process right. See http://code-sharp.blogspot.com/2009/...fedora-12.html for a writeup on this.
