Default Help needed: Connect Sony Bravia with G105M over VGA

Hi

I have an Acer Extensa 5635ZG with a G105M, and I try to connect it to a Sony Bravia KDL-32S2530 without success.

I'm on openSUSE 11.2 with 190.53.

It seems that I can't get it to higher resolution than 1024x768 without paning. I haven't been able to have the desktop fill the whole screen other than with 800x600. I only want to clone the desktop to the TV sometimes when I have to show pictures for some people.

I have dual boot with Vista, where I have been able to have 1280x768. So I know it's possible :-)

Please tell me what I can try out with, or if more information is needed.

/Anders

In my experience, most Sony TVs cripple VGA input, only allowing a limited resolution, and often making it smaller than the entire screen (surrounded by black bars). It may not be possible. If DVI or HDMI is available, I'd recommend it.
