Default Bugtracking

Is it possible to establish some public bug tracking system like launchpad, older threads are going deeper in the list and some of them probably not read by busy developers. System with priorities, possibility to mark duplicate bugs and some community to maintain it would simplify task of developers and allow faster patches.

Default Re: Bugtracking

Not gonna happen.

Read the interview with that nvidia linux dude over at phoronix. Their emphasis with *nix drivers is almost 100% with commercial customers, and they won't invest resources (developers) in 'community stuff'. In other words, they don't really care about most of the 'little' problems reported here, as long as they don't affect their business customers.

It's sad, but their choice to do so, and I guess for the moment it seems to make economic sense for them, although it might be a bad decision in the long term. The good news is that probably this nightmare will end soon for most of us (nouveau).

Just my 2c.
