Default Native Resolution is Wrong

I just installed Ubuntu 9.10 since I got my new hdd and video card. I installed Previous versions of ubuntu before this with the same monitor and it worked like a charm. Now, for some reason, my 1440x900 monitor wants to have its native resolution 640x480 instead of 1440x900. I am using an Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT with driver version 195.30.

Default Re: Native Resolution is Wrong

When I run nvidia-settings, and go to GPU 0, DFP-0, it says:
  • Native Resolution: 640x480
  • Best Fit Resolution: 1680x1050
  • Frontend Resolution: 1680x1050
  • Backend Resolution: 1680x1050

No idea why it choses 640x480 as the native resolution, but I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I have some modelines specified in xorg.conf due to faulty EDID also.

BTW, you should attach a bug report as specified in this thread.

Sorry, the bug file I tried to upload was too large for me to upload, and I tried putting out what it said here, but the length was too long.

And I've added a few lines of code to the xorg.conf file.

Code:
Option "ModeValidation" "NoVirtualSizeCheck"
and
Code:
Option "ConstantDPI" "FALSE"
But none of those helped.
