Hi,
Since upgrading from Fedora 11 to Fedora 12, my screen has been freezing up many times per hour (it never did so under F11). These are usually accompanied by "[mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop." messages in the Xlog. I upgraded to nvidia drivers 190.53 because I saw that it was supposed to fix "occasional short hangs" but I'm here to tell you it does not! It is often triggered by creating or closing a new window. This makes my system (x86_64, GE Force 9600) nearly unusable. I'm very willing to test out any fixes that are available, or to try any useful advice/workarounds experts here can offer. This seems to be a somewhat common problem and I am dismayed that it has not been adequately addressed as yet. Thank you.

Are you using KDE? There's a bug in Fedora 12's X server that causes occasional pauses when doing certain operations in KDE.

I can confirm this, same for me with Fedora 12 64 but the short hangs are very rare and far between, i mostly notice them in some but not all wine Games. gnome 2.28, xorg 1.7.1, 190 + 195 Drivers on a gtx275. However there are no problems for a normal use here.

I'm under Archlinux 64bit KDE4 with geforce 8600m gs. I have this problem when I plug my 23,6' medion lcd. I have less freeze if I disable kwin effects. I also noticed I have less freeze since 195.30 with xorg1.7.3.902 What is it possible to do ? thanks
