The only issue i had wtih setting up 7 was enabling sli, it would blue screen for no reason but now its fine since i jiggled the sli bridge a bit.

What was interesting is that Radio Shack had an opportunity to do what Microsoft did with MS-DOS during that time.

I don't remember what happened to my TRS-80, but I do have the original operating system manual.

Windows 7 has renewed my faith in Microsoft. While it's not perfect by no means, it is MILES ahead of what Vista was IMO.

On a serious note, I have been wondering why Windows 7 takes so long to boot on my PC. It takes longer than Vista.

Most of the time is spent after the logon screen when a password is entered. I rarely use Windows 7 so it's basically a fresh install with updates.

Are there any tools available to determine what Windows 7 is spending its time on during startup (i.e., BootVis)?

You need an SSD.

I think my boot time is 38 seconds from hitting the power button to sitting at the desktop ready to go. (Including login)

I'd take a quick peek at msconfig and see what programs you have loading on startup. My install is still pretty new, so I only have a handful of programs that load. Also, what antivirus are you using?

I just got another BSOD tonight.

It seems to be hardware, but never had this problem in Vista.

no bootvis needed, similar function/info can be found in event viewer.

You cannot claim it's the most stable OS ever, based on 3 months of release. You also cannot claim the same thing if you've never used other OS's.

The OP should fix the title to say; 'The most stable Windows operating system ever?'.
