Default Cannot find codec 'h264_vdpau' in libavcodec

Using latest mplayer svn (rev 30303) & Nvidia 190.53

I do see the codecs Using mplayer -vc help | grep vdpau:

ffmpeg12vdpau ffmpeg working FFmpeg MPEG-1/2 (VDPAU) [mpegvideo_vdpau]
ffwmv3vdpau ffmpeg problems FFmpeg WMV3/WMV9 (VDPAU) [wmv3_vdpau]
ffvc1vdpau ffmpeg problems FFmpeg WVC1 (VDPAU) [vc1_vdpau]
ffh264vdpau ffmpeg working FFmpeg H.264 (VDPAU) [h264_vdpau]
ffodivxvdpau ffmpeg working FFmpeg MPEG-4,DIVX-4/5 (VDPAU) [mpeg4_vdpau]

I get:

Forced video codec: ffh264vdpau
Opening video decoder: [ffmpeg] FFmpeg's libavcodec codec family
Cannot find codec 'h264_vdpau' in libavcodec...
VDecoder init failed

Installed libavcodec-unstripped-52 & libavutil-unstripped-49

If i am not declaring -vc it does work but not with acceleration of course
No success so far

How did you compile MPlayer?
May I strongly suggest
Code:
./configure && make

Thanks Carl,
I did compile MPlayer that way, also "make install" was invoked after.

I've made sure "configure" answers "yes" for VDPAU detection

(Assuming you still have mentioned problems.)
Did you test the mplayer executable before running make install?
I never install, but my guess is that after running make install, you have two different mplayer executables installed.

Problem solved.

I've done 2 things, so i can't be sure which solved it.

1. Download the codec library from the mplayer website and re-install it.
2. (More likely) Clean checkout from svn, so it's both a clean copy, and newest (30311)

This is amazing, from 100% cpu usage on 1080i to 3% usage with E7200 and 8400GS.

Thanks
