Default strange nvidia 6150 problem

i have been a linux user for the past 6 months and i ve been distro hunting, ubuntu 9.04.9.10 fedora 12 opensuse 11.2 ,during these months i have successfully installed my nvidia card everywhere,no issues.

recently 2 days back opensuse refused to start my nvidia card(after working cleanly from 11.2 release date),i decided to make a clean install right from scratch,

i made clean install of windows 7, aero and all blah blah were working,,then installed ubuntu 9.10 ,and
1)after nvidia 185 driver install,it was horrible cant enable desktop effects. edited xorg.conf nvidia to nv ,and all possible options, from ubuntu forums, didnt work..
2)i even tried the latest driver 190 and
3)also the latest 195 beta.
4)my bios setting everything is fine.
5)installed manually by downloading from nvidia
NOTHING WORKED it even shows nvidia boot logo ,my desktop used to start with metacity,
and after compiz could not be enabled

then linux mint helena ,same problem.

fedora 12,installed the driver, but same problem

my specs
AMD 64 nvidia 6150
is my card dead, but why am i seeing it in all the distros saying successful install
help needed guys

Just curious, do you get compiz stuff when using a LiveCD like Ubuntu's liveCD for example? Also I don't think Option "AIGLX" "on" does anything on nvidia cards, and Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True" will probably give you other rendering problems down the road. Can you do anything OpenGL? Does glxgears work? Direct rendering working? glxinfo |grep -i direct What does your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file say? cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log |grep -i composite Maybe your card is dying.
