Default GF9100M - does it have dedicated memory?

Hello everybody.

The above question crossed my mind when I saw this:

My notebook (MSI VR630) has 2048 MB of RAM, according to the BIOS and Linux utilities - 256 MB is eaten by my GeForce - so why does "nvidia-settings" report that my card has 512MB, and not 256MB VRAM? Or maybe this card has dedicated memory I'm not aware of? Or is it the driver issue?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

That number includes memory available to the GPU via TurboCache.
