Angry Not quitting just yet

Here's hoping someone can help. I decided to get Enemy Territory working
on Mandrake 9.1. Took 2 weeks, but got Mandrake installed, and learnt an awful lot about Linux at the same time. Never touched it before. I was a die hard MS fan, but thought i better try the opposition as well...lol

My Trouble.

I am trying to install nvidia drivers for a Geforce 2 MMx400 card.

The message i get says that it cannot install cos x-windows is running.

I know this means i need to get at the Linux equiv. of rebooting into dos mode, but how do i do this. I cannot find any options, ive tried the terminals in the kde and gnome interfaces.

Any help or suggestions, (except rude ones) would be gratefully accepted.

oh yeah, your 'booting into dos mode' analagy is pritty much right, accept its awesome : D

SOme mandrake configs have it where you never see anything but Xwindows. Anyways, your 'start' button should have a logout option eater int he shutdown or something close to it.

btw, when your in the console and you want to get back to x-windows type

sorry i cant help you more, i really forget heh.
