Its the same engine as BioShock 1, so it only uses DX9/DX10. As for other "PC" features, controller support has been dropped, so its only M+KB. The game is also "supposed" to be 3D Ready as it has a 3D Vision option in its graphics game options, a la Batman Arkham Asylum, but the current driver has no 3D Vision profile for the game, so its gimped. The SLI profile for the game is copied over from the BioShock 1 profile and doesn't quite work right for me. Basically the game feels like a mod or expansion pack for BioShock 1, along with the added gripes of having driver issues at launch.

Other than the lack of pad support, a driver update should fix those problems, hopefully. It's a pity about lack of pad support though. It worked really in Bioshock. But I'd rather have the KB&M working well than the pad.

I still get killed all the time, the lightning plasmid doesn't last long enough to charge them most the time. I find I die from the guns and from a distance more than close quarters in which case the charge / melee is useless. I'll keep plugging on, maybe it will get better still.
You have the freeze?

I have level 2 and all the big enemies and ones with guns, I freeze and demolish. Big sisters and Rosie's are tougher, but the small fry are usually just a charge or melee slash away

Man, turning on AA drops my framerate significantly. This game looks no better than Bioshock, so why the hell do they get basically cut in half? I also can't turn off vsync - it just turns my screen blank and I have to alt-tab and when I click back into the game vsync is still on.

Found a working fix for the fov problem,I used the 16:9 only as Im using 1920x1080 which I believe is 16:9 It is bound to a key and must be triggered at each startup for some reason.I used the tilde key and it works fine.

Find the user.ini file located in C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Bioshock2 for XP users it would be c:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Bioshock 2. Open it and look for the heading [Default] and look for an unbound key I used TILDE and after done it should look like this TILDE=SetFov 85.2812718522 for 16:10 and TILDE=SetFov 91.3154482287 for 16:9.

Hacking's still in the game? Did they fix the part where you're totally sick of it by halfway through the game? If not this gets a pass from me.

Well i got to play finally last night

So far i've only gone to a few rooms cause i want to make it last,i had the mouse issue but once i turned the slider down to 2 instead of 3 it felt a bit better.

Also i keep trying to manually reload the eve but then i remembered you can't use a siringe with a drill for an arm

It's very well done IMO.. of course i thought the original was great too
