Default 9800 vs 250 for VPDAU deinterlace/scale

Is there much of a VDPAU deinterlacing or scaling performance difference between a 1GB 9800 and a 1GB 250? This would be in a quad core i5 system running Ubuntu 9.10 64bit with 4GB RAM. I am currently using a 9500GT 512MB.

No. Both GPUs are good enough for high-quality deinterlacing at 1080p.

Yeah, either should do well.

I recently upgraded from a fanless Sparkle 1GB 9500GT to a fanless Zotac 1GB GT240, and the difference is actually noticeable, in smoother playback and the ability to enable *all* of the goodies (Adv/2x, denoise, sharpen, ivtc, etc..) simultaneously.

When I switched from a GT9500 to a 220GT the power consumption dropped by about 10-15 W and the heat is also noticeably lower. Not sure what the difference between a 9800 and a 250 is though.
