I got in one game of multiplayer and got through the tutorial for the predator last night. Predator seems cool, but I really was just rushing through the tutorial when I probably should have payed more attention. Graphics look fine, nothing spectacular, but I am in dx9 mode with my SLI GTX 275's. I think I tried loading up the DX11 .exe using steam and it didn't work but I don't remember.

I got absolutely smoked in the multiplayer... how are people so good already? Granted, I was playing as a predator for the first time ever, so I am sure that had to do with it. Maybe I should have payed more attention during the tutorial in SP lol. There was a lot less lag this time around... not sure if it had to do with it being the full game and not the demo but everyone's ping was around 100-120. That's not the greatest but I could at least see people wind up their heavy attacks and see them blocking, etc.

I will probably log a ton more into this game this weekend as I have a lot of friends out of town so there's not much else to do.

Yes, with cat 9.8.

EDIT: Started to say...ZOMG is this short!

I could easily have lived with another 5 hours on the marine campaign.

No, they installed fine nekro (10.1s) but began to stutter in source games afterward. No amount of driver cleaning or rolling back has gotten rid of it except to reinstall the 9.8s. Every other driver stutters now except these, since trying the 10s.

That said, I'm considering myself lucky as this is really the only trouble I've had with my 4870 since launch, so not a bad run.

Well the whole point is that the singleplayer is split into 3 campaigns.

Gah, I hope it's not that bad, that's a terrible score. What'd they give SPORE, a 8.5 or something?

It has seen a lot of 8+ reviews elsewhere. The IGN and Gamespot reviews seem to focus on technical issues on the consoles (bad aiming, low res textures) and also complain about it being just another FPS, which of course every other FPS game then give 9s to is as well.

It's just not heavily marketed or made by a star studio, so it gets more nitpicked. If you like the movie Aliens and you like PC FPS games I can't see not loving the marine campaign, it's epic and well done.

I'm getting lighting bugs on GTX 260 with latest drivers, Windows 7 64-bit. Anyone know anything about that? Basically, 50% of dynamic lights fade out once I get a few steps away from them - flares included. It's really killing the game and according to a friend, I should be seeing smoke effects too.

Similar system and I don't have that issue... haven't seen it on the Steam forum either.
