Default NVIDIA comment on preorder pricing

Just got this from NVIDIA:

“NVIDIA and our launch partners have not released pricing or pre-order information yet. Any Web sites claiming to be taking pre-orders should not be considered legitimate.”
intel 990X + 2 X EVGA 3GB GTX580 + 3 X Acer GD235Hz
3D Vision Surround

Rig 2:
intel 2500K + NVIDIA GTX590 + Dell 3007 WFPHC

Default Re: NVIDIA comment on preorder pricing

This is true. I used to work in the industry. Websites that do pre-orders do so at their own risk and often times have no idea of what their cost will be (from the partner). In addition, they do not (in most cases) have an accurate or even semi accurate release date. Also, they take pre-orders without knowing what availability is going to be at launch. They then bitch at the partners to give them more product because they oversold preorders. This causes issues when partners only get a certain number of product at launch.

On Any Given Sunday!
