So is it just me or is this game considerably less awesome looking than the original? Pop-up seems worse and textures less crisp (though forcing AF will help with that) and everything looks kind of boxy.
Maybe I just need to play more, still early on. Also: no DRM problems what-so-ever so far.

Yeah, I was surprised... I usually dislike DoF but in this game it is used well... subtle and distant, not too blurry, just a general distance blur. Looks good... most games use it far more abrasively and make it look like crap.
Also forcing 16xAF makes the game look a LOT better in an instant... thank God for PC gaming. Still think it looks "boxier" than the original.

Have you noticed the occaisional "chugs"? Seems the DRM checks in the background affect performance a bit. Some people dropped all settings and resolution and found to have the same performace they have maxed out. |

No chugs here at all... unless you count the pause when a mission accept screen comes up. The DRM has been frankly invisible, no complaints there from me.
As for fps, mine is 30 outside and 60 inside due to v-synch, but using a controller makes 30fps seem perfect, so I got no complaints.

Just played for a bit. Utterly disappointed in the M/KB control in game and menus; craptastic port pretty much describes how everything works. Will be switching to my 360 controller out of total necessity since they pretty much made no effort to make PC adjustments.
Graphics and sounds are nice enough but nothing jaw dropping. Frame rates excellent, 35+ easily. DRM no problems so far. HUD is a bit annoying being somewhat intrusive to the viewing area. Nice enough cut scenes and story so far. Overall, it's entertaining, as it should be. ![]()
