PS3 slim

My brother is selling off his ps3 slim he got for xmas. I am wondering if I should buy it off him and sell my 40GB ps3? I know theres no added benefit other than the additional space, but the slim is under warranty whereas my 40gb's warranty has expired. Also how much are the 40GB phats going for these days?

40 gig doesn't have backwards compatibility or I would never have gotten rid of mine. Get the Slim and sell the 40 gig.

Oh right, those were the 20's and the 60's that had PS2 BC. Might as well upgrade to get a warranty again if you can. Otherwise, just get bigger hard drive.

Make sure you realize that you're giving up the ability to install Linux at any point in the future if you go with the slim. At least, not unless someone figures out a hack. If you don't think you'll ever use the Linux feature, then by all means, go slim. I hear they use less power and run cooler.

I did try it out with my old 20gb ps3...but it was more of a project than wanting to do anything useful with it. Kinda like installing Mac OS on a intel pc.

Anyway I dont think I will ever install Linux again, so looks like I am going to have to bargain with my bro...lol
