Guys. It's k. I have my PS3 back. It's the same unit I sent, but with new internals from what i can see. It's all nice and shiny inside. It works and I'm re downloading all my crap again. Sucks I lost all my saves though. ::

So they replaced the inside, but left the used outside? I'm also kinda surprised that they don't transfer over the data from the HD like nintendo does.

Apparently the first thing the service center does is wipe the HDD and destroy it. HDDs get replaced no matter what and wiping is for privacy reasons. At least that's what the service rep told me.

Yeah, it appears to be my shell, well it's been cleaned.

i think it is different from country to country. I just sent a ps3 slim in that had a 500gb hard drive. I removed the drive and sent it without one. They repaired it and sent it back without a hard drive. Its the same box I sent, since it has the same serial number, and did not ask me to format when I put the drive in.

I did everything online, did not speak to a human. But I did note on the pink slip, that I am not sending the hard drive with the box.

My slip said it HAD to have the HDD. I was hoping they'd let me send it without, BUT I guess to rule it out as a secondary problem they need it.
