Feel free to list these independent games that are like good Chaos Theory's gameplay.

Hmmm, that is quite the challenge you've laid down for me there. Chaos Theory obviosuly didn't have mod support so the obvious route of new game discovery is no use.

Does it have to play exactly like SC: Chaos Theory? Or would any good stealth game be something you'd be interested in?

I'm trying to think of a good example. But lets take something like Painkiller. After 60 (?) souls are collected you become invincible, can deal massive amounts of damage and can do it when you want.

Isn't that somewhat analagous to this? Replace 60 souls with one guard, invincilble with mark ane execute.

Now I haven't played the game. Having to take down only one guard in stealth to get this feature sounds way too easy. Not having a bad penalty if you get spotted in a stealth game also sounds ridiculous. But many games have these semi-invicible features and have for a long time. (FEAR slow motion, Doom 3 cube thing, mw2 breaching, )

Surely it comes down to how they are implemented, not their existence?

I'm all for challenging games, why I play STALKER. But I didn't mind Prince of Persia which didn't let you die, nor Bioshock 2 with vita chambers. I'm definitely not sure about changing core game mechanics of a franchise though.

Actually now that I think of it, most of the games with this feature still require a certain level of skill (Accuracy or speed) to make the most of them. SC5 seems like press one button to kill all?

Good stealth games are pretty rare... I liked Velvet Assassin despite its flaws simply because OMG IT'S A STEALTH GAME.

I hope they don't mess up Thief 4.

And this is the main issue I have. On it's own merits, SC5 demo was good but if you change a game this much, don't call it Splinter Cell.

ME1 wasn't harder. In fact ME1 was way easier because of the absence of reloading and the way you could spam powers without having to widdle down armor, shields or barriers.

ME1 was harder because it was more flawed then ME2 so it seemed harder but not because of its design but due to the flaws that made it a pain.

The winner of this years independent games festival was a 4player co-op stealth game.

The inventory system in ME1 was so, so horrid... I can't believe people miss that crap in ME2.

Narcissist, You need to look beyond the OLD first person shooter style. First person shooters in which you are given 8 directions move in, a first and secondary fire, a reload button, and maybe a crouch and told to go at it with have been done for over a decade now.

It looks like what the new splinter cell is doing is working off what we call a combo system. Unique special attacks that require the execution of basic attacks and then followed up.

You "think" the game will spoon feed you one guy and then require you to multi shot the next group using auto aim, but you clearly missed the labels indicating this was a tutorial level. It was designed to have you charge a combo with a hand to hand kill and then multi shot the following group.

I am just wondering if its a one trick pony, are there other specials that require a basic charge move?
