Toss don't worry, I think everything I have tried scales near perfect across 4 GPU'S.

You can verify with MSI afterburner and see if all four cores (2 in your case are used at 95%+)

Unless you are CPU limited then you will not see 95%+ on the GPU's.

Does this make any sence??? lol.

Good example is HEAVEN benchmark. Your Scores will double with CF.

I have no doubt it's gonna scale well in older titles - it's the newer ones I'm concerned about. Hope the new ATI profile system is going to work as advertised!

IMO "Everyone's a winner!" Like when you're at a State Fair throwing baseballs at a stack of cups. The GTX 480 should get credit for more peaceful times. w00t! Lets get PhysX working on all cards now. (On another thread plzzzz!)

This is probably why most users are disappointed by the new nV cards. A 6 months delay doesn't make it automatically a new generation. It just makes it late to the market.
Well even if it is from the same generation I still think two 5850 in CF is the better deal. Too bad you don't have your GTX 480s already - would really like to see some IQ comparisons.

sorry for the type, i mean to say never

with dual gpu, you have to worry about scalling issues, profiles, new games support, etc...

A 5970 performs exactly the same.

If it makes your games playable at higher settings then how could it not be considered a better deal?

When looking at reviews just look at the score from the ATI 5970, that is in its non-overclocked form 2 X ATI 5850's in CF.

Good site review on Hothardware.com
