Just bought a subscription!


Now- where can I read about MY obligations... I mean, do I have to submit feedback to MS about the products of theirs I'm using? If so- where and how?

Microsoft adds more restrictions to MSDN/TechNet users

For TechNet customers, the biggest change of all is the elimination of perpetual license rights. Currently, you’re allowed to continue using any software and product keys you download as part of your TechNet membership, even after your subscription expires. Under the revised terms, new and renewing subscribers will get time-based rights that apply during the subscription term only. The new, simplified subscription agreement makes it clear:

The subscription provides you with access to software and associated benefits. When your subscription concludes, you will no longer have access to the software or any associated benefits and must discontinue your use of the software.

That doesn’t mean that the software itself will stop working, of course. Instead, the license expires along with the subscription, and you’re expected to stop using the evaluation copies.

The new terms come in effect when Windows 8 gone RTM, current technet users are now f***ed. I renewed technet back on January 2012, when we install Windows 8 from technet in 2 or 3 weeks time and activated it then in 5 months time when my subscription ended then Windows 8 and 7 licenses on my desktop, dad laptop, sister PC and my mate PC will be expired.

Farewell technet!

You were breaking the terms of service. Development, not production use. You were using it in production and giving it away. You're just as much to blame as the pirates.

Nope I never gave it away, I build 3 PCs for mine, my sister and my mate. Also installed 1 on my Dell laptop which my dad shared to used it.

Yeah I gave them Windows 7 but I never gave them product keys, I only activated it when I installed Windows 7 on 2 PCs. I told them to looked away from the screen when I inputed product key.

I don't care if you blindfolded them while you chained them in the basement. The fact of the matter is that Technet licenses are intended only for DEVELOPMENT and testing. You had it in full production use. Not just for yourself, but for several people. It wasn't the intent of the program and is a large part of the reason why MS has been locking it down more and more the last few years.
