I have my CPU overclocked at 4.0. According to Coretemp and CPUz, Core#2 and Core#3 are running on 2.4ghz, even when loading at %100. Only Core#0 and Core#1 are running at 4.0 with multiplier at 9x as opposed to 6x with the other 2 cores that are running below speeds.
Any idea why this is happening?

Just wondering if your temps are too high and the cpu throttling in bios is kicking in to slow things down.
2 cents worth sounds a bit odd |

Oddly enough, I am running stock speeds right now and the same 2 cores are now running at 2.0ghz instead of 3.0. Cores 0 and 1 are fine. This is frustrating.

I have EIST, CE1 and speed spectrum disabled. I Coretemp and CPUz both report the same low speeds with the same cores. Thanks again for your help.
The 2 cores for some odd reason decrease to 6x when they should be at 9x. FSB is the same as it should be for the overclocking I aim for.

Have you tried increasing the voltage?

No. But should it really make a difference, if even at stock settings the problem remains?

You have another processor you can try? Are you sure your BIOS supports the Q9650? I needed up update my BIOS to handle the 45nm chips from Intel. |

Well I got the other 2 cores running at 4.0 now. But EIST has to be enabled for that to work. So now I have to settle with windows speed control.
