Revs, How have you managed to get your memory running at 1600MHz with the cpu at 4.2GHz?
(i see you have the same memory as me) If i put my BCLK to 210 with a multiplier of 20 i get 4.2GHz but my memory clocks up to 1691MHz? My memory timings are 9-9-9-24 and its on 1.66v, I wonder if my memory would be ok/stable running with the extra 91MHz?

Set the uncore or whatever it's called to 200Mhz. 19x multiplier, plus Turbo mode which adds 2 more gives you 21x. 200 x 21 = 4.2Ghz. Memory on 8x gives you 1600Mhz
. There's another option in there somewhere which should be set to double your memory multiplier, ie, with yours at 8x this other should be on 16x. Can't check not cos I'm at work, but if you need any more help you can get me on xFire this evening .You should, if you haven't already, disable anything that saves power like EIST or C3, stuff like that. On most mobo's they won't work in Turbo mode anyway, but they can effect stability. Just make sure you leave CPU throttling on (often called CPU Thermal Protection). |

The names vary but the options are the same. All X58's have Turbo mode AFAIK. Most people find the 19x multiplier to be more stable, too. As well as allowing you to run the memory at the 'correct' speed.

Ok something weird about turbo mode, Its in the bios when the multiplier is set to auto but as soon as i manually input any figure the turbo mode option goes!
Also if i try the x19 multiplier my two closes memory options are 1335MHz or 1779MHz!

i am idling at just under 40c, 37c-39c, and during bfbc2 it didn't get higher than 59c. I think I'll keep this overclock.

Yay just got my old C0 to 4200Mhz! Currently running at 1.4V. Temps after running prime95 for 15 minutes were in the low 60s.
Idle temp is ~30c.
