Default problem with IRQs or something else..

ok check this.

computer spec

your video card: geforce 5700 ultra agp
your driver version: 1.0-4496
your distribution: Slackware 9.1
your video bios revision: Model: Unknown
IRQ: 5
Video BIOS: 04.36.20.18.50
Card Type: AGP
your processor: AMD 1.2
your motherboard model: Asus A7N8X Deluxe - UAY


nows when i load glxgear it freezes and when i try to start up ut2k3 demo it freezes and i have to reset from the box. now when i did.

now im not smart at computers. but im pretty sure they shouldn't all be using the same IRQ
i went to bios and put the irq 5 to reserved and the rest to auto and then..

they all keep using the same one how would i fix ive tried alot of things..

Check your mobo's website, and see if you can update your BIOS. I had some weird problems with my system, but that did the trick.

WARNING: incomplete update of BIOS will leave your computer inoperable.

When you do heavy network transfers and play music at the same time, does it freeze?

What kernel version are you running? Have you tried a stock kernel from www.kernel.org?
