Are you going to buy Fermi?

I'm kind of surprised BFG isn't one of the brands of GTX 470/480 being sold at launch. I'm still probably going EVGA this round, but i have two BFG GTX 280s and they have been pretty solid, plus I got both a free copy of the full 3DMark Vantage and Call of Duty World at War out of their deals.

I did have Evgas 90 step up in the back of my mind when I bought them.....I must say I feel a lot more comfortable now I'm going to own Evga cards again.

There are so many horror stories out there, Company's not shipping RMAs out for months, sending the same card back.

I noticed that Zotac offer a lifetime warranty now...so BFG XFX Evga and Zotac are the company's to go with.....come on Evga, start selling ATi

I wasn't going to buy a Fermi, but with the availability and cost of the 5870's not getting better I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a 480. I have also been reading some first hand benchmarks and opinions from actual gamers (not reviewers) and the heat issues seem to be blown way out of proportion. In fact, the cards seem to run cooler than my 295 did. On top of that, the 480 just seems more prepared for DX11 gaming which, considering I already owned a fast card (295), was a big part of my upgrade.

Anyway, I bought 2 480's and they will be here Tuesday. I'm still not sure if I want to mess with SLI again, so I may put the second card up on Ebay.

Not sure what you've been reading but the actual 'user stuff' I've seen almost always involves the fan being run at 100% which is not acceptable AFAIAC.

If you have any links where that isnt the case, I'd love to see them

I was just reading another users experiences over on the EVGA forums, same deal, 100c for an SLI setup @ 70% fan.

That's at least some protection if Nvidia releases the 512 SP version later on,but does it apply from the date of purchase or when you receive the actual cards?....Never owned EVGA myself.

looks like PNY offers lifetime now as well, but ive always gone with evga.

why would EVGA move to ATI? They will loose there Teir 1 status same as ASUS did when they started making ATI cards.

While this may be true, ATI is making the majority of $$$$$$$ this round. If it's worth the payoff, it may actually be worth it.

I am absolutely in love with EVGA's customer service. Them and newegg are the model that all other companies should use and follow. It almost makes me want to pick up a GTX 480. At least then, I know that if one dies on me, I'll get another one back.
