Default DMA bug?

k7s5a: sis 735 AGP
athlon-xp 1800+ 1.5GHz
Geforce 2 mx 400 64MB
Redhat 9.0 kernel 2.4.22
Nvidia driver 4496
Nvidia AGP driver
video BIOS

glxgears default size:
350fps???: Geforce 2 mx 400
400fps: Nvidia TNT
> 1000fps: Geforce 4 mx

Ok looks like your card is not using AGP correctly.
I dont think sis chipset is supported by NvAGP
You will need to recompile your kernel and include AGPGART in the kernel not as module.

then edit /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
Option "NvAGP" "2"
glx scores are relative to DefaultColorDepth in you XF86Config-4 whether its 24 or 16.
Another suggestion give drivers 3123 a go, they are more stable.
I have a gf2 mx400 64Mb on a k6-2 450 mhz
at color depth 16 I get 1340 fps glxgears.
half that amount If I use 24 bit and about half again if I turn agp off...
