You guys that bought it on the Xmas sale can't really compare the cost to something just released. I paid full price for my copy of GTA IV, this was $10 less. GTA IV was worth every cent. Quit whining because you waited and bought GTA IV a year late for $7.50 If it's that big a deal wait another year and get EFLC for $8 next year when its on sale then.

Well, Episodes from Liberty City is new for the PC, unlike GTA IV which is about a year and a half old. It's still cheaper than GTA IV when it was released.

Think of it as a new game.

Steam updated my game and not it wants securom to reactivate it and it's not working Doesn't even think my serial is valid at all, it's not activation limits.

Ah nevermind it's just a little messed up. Apparently that was to unlock the new content.

My performance is worse after the patch, as is my performance in the Episodes compared to the original game. Lots of similar comments on the Steam forums, it seems something is causing massive performance drops with the new shadows on some systems. I hope someone figures out what it is.

Also I highly suggest buying the retail (or Steam) version of this because the GFWL download cuts some content.

I can also confirm the fps drops after the patch.
My GTX 285 used to have no issues with GTA, and now it struggles to mantain 20fps
With or without having the new shadows enabled.

have you tried disabling AA? I know AA doesn't work, but drivers could be trying to force it, hurting the performance.

note: also transperancyAA

Not sure why you guys have performance loss, I got performance gains. After some experimentation, I did notice that High and Very High night shadows have an oddly large performance hit, so I run with them at medium.

I think the loss difference in my case can be directly attributed to the increase in visual settings.
I still get 67 in GTA IV after the patch. Its Episodes From Liberty Cities that is 47 fps.

Even with shadows off and everything on low I get dips to the 20s... before the patch with the main game I got 40fps almost rock solid.

Gonna uninstall and reinstall the original game and refuse the latest patch, see what happens.

Please post your findings, I really want to know if it's the patch or some leftover crap from the ENB series mod.
Speaking of which, he said he won't do a new version of the mod for this new patch, because "they suck, and haven't contacted him"
