i have my 480 for two days now, and it runs cooler them my 280.

the only thing true about the 480 is power consumption, rest (temps, noise) is BS.

I don't think it's fair to say that. Hardocp always tells it like it is and even they concluded that the 480 was a significantly hotter and noisier card. Of course, noise is all subjective. I have friends that returned a Xbox 360 because of the noise and there are others who claim that they don't hear anything.

My room is not that hot, but I'm not sure what the ambient temp is. I could wear either a t-shirt or a sweater comfortably.

I have a 140mm fan on the side of my Antec 900 blowing right on top of the metal grills and heat pipes. I have two front 140mm fans sucking air in, one top 200mm fan sucking air in, and a 140mm fan blowing air out the back.

Germany, they reach from 479euro to 549euro at www.alternate.de . Smaller stores have even higher prices.
