Here's some results using the Crysis benchmark tool:

Temps were 82c and 80c at 79% fan speed.

How's the tone at 80%? Better or worse than the 200 series at 80%?

I'm glade to see the temps are controllable though. Heat was my major concern since I'll have 3 videocards next to each other in a very hot environment.

At that speed it's about the same. Anything much higher than that and it starts to separate, with the 480 fans getting much louder. At 100% it's ridiculously loud.

The highest fan speed I've seen in an actual game is 79%.

I've got mine on 65% now while gaming and I put an Antec spot fan at the back end of the cards to make sure the air flow is constant over them.

They are running fine. I could probably lower the fan speed even more as they aren't breaking 76 at the moment and I've been playing AoC for about 2 hours

Nice, how are you liking AoC on those bad boys? It's night and day with me. The 295 never was very good at running that game, especially compared to equal powered Ati cards.

It cranks and no annoying advanced DX10 shadow problem as there is on crossfire.

What about stuttering for other games (I don't play AOC)? Does 480 SLI feel smoother than 5870 crossfire? I'm just talking about your subjective feel so there's no need to run benchmarks.

I never had any stuttering on the 5870 CF and I dont see any on the 480s.

Another game that is way better on the 480 is Metro 2033. I liked it on Tri SLI 280s, I thought it was better on 5870 CF and 480 SLI is where it's at for this game. The 5870 CF setup slowed down alot when there was a lot going on. That doesn't happen with the 480 SLI. This may well be due to Physx but regardless, I think I'll play it again just for kicks

Absolutely crazy! There's no way in hell I'd ever run Quad 480's, but I can't wait to see this guys numbers.

I doubt it was Physx slowing you down. Metro worked fine on my 5870s as long as I used AAA and turn off DOF @1920x1200. Physx makes no difference as long as I'm using the 9800GT to drive it. What settings are you currently using?

Probably, but with his new Powersupply (Silverstone 1500w) he won't have any problem running them.
