Fair enough, my other question is: What's it ramping up to and when? When it's doing big DX11 stuff like Metro 2033, is it at 100%? Does it only ramp up for Metro? If I'm thinking of putting two of these in my case, it'd be nice to know
I already have lots of fans, but I have all my fans on Low and it's pretty tolerable. I'll run my fan at 70% on hot days and that's pretty loud, but I don't do it often. I'm still leaning to a pair of these as I just don't see myself buying a 5970, but I'd like to pretend I'm doing my due diligence ![]()

Is there any stuttering so far with triple-SLI? I used quad-sli with 295 for about 6 months and noticed them in some games. I knew it was a quad specific problem because it went away when I dropped down to just 2 GPUs.

![]() With regards to the photo, I will have to do some cable management first, it's a bit of a mess at the moment ![]() Best thing to do is just place the Spot fan at the back of the cards so that it is blowing air across the top and then have a 60mm or two extracting the air. Obviously, a board that allows you to spread the 480s out across several slots is preferable although mine are side by side on this GA UD7 and the temps are absolutely fine. Thing is, this hobby costs money but new hardware is so satisfying. It's one of the few things I get a kick out of these days. It's not about the money for me, it's about getting immersed in the game. I got totally lost in STALKER COP before, I missed 2 calls during an 'emission' because I had my headphones so loud ![]() |

This video almost has me ordering a pair of 470s. Not as loud or as hot as the reviewers made it seem; now I just have to wait for EVGA to get some in stock:

Well finally got it up and running stable and been having some fun today. I just wanted to post a little heaven bench and I matched your settings Fasedww. I came in a few fps lower than you but bear in mind my cpu is at 3.77 yours is at 4.3. This is my sig rig minus of course the 3 260's and replaced with 3 x evga gtx 470 sc's running only the factory oc. Was a fast run and only 1 run I'll play more over the next few days since I've been testing stability all day and playing lots of games to make sure it's all running as it's supposed too. Are you running your overclocked past the small factory oc?
I'll up my sig tomorrow or something. ![]()

Wondering if I should return my GTX 470 in SLI and go for the 480. I'm running a core i7 920 @ 4ghz (200x20) with 6gb of RAM. I play Bfbc2 @ 2560x1600 1AA 16AF everything on high. For the most part it is silky smooth, but I would like to turn up the AA to a 2 or 4 at the most. What do you guys think?
BTW I have them clocked at 480 GTX speeds |
