Just purchased a X25-m 80gb G2 drive as a birthday gift to myself. Should be here in a day or two. Now to back up my soon to be Broken RAID and get things ready for SSD-goodness.

Bought one a few days ago, due to arrive here on the 22nd. I'm a bit curious though, how have most of you dealt with getting the partition alignment right when formatting the drive for the first time in windows 7? Or does windows 7 handle this automatically?
For those who don't already know, the partition needs to be created so that it begins where the second data cluster begins, or else your drive won't perform up to its potential speed.

Yeah I figured they'd throw on a partition already setup just for win xp users but I'm wondering what will happen should I ever need to repartition it.

If you end up getting an ssd for it please let me know how much better the machine runs. I've been thinking about putting my 40GB intel ssd-v in the wifes netbook when I upgrade to a better ssd down the road.

Can't wait to see Anand's review of the new OCZ Agility 2:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/3663/t...dforce1200-ssd It uses the Sandforce SF-1200 controller, and it should be much cheaper than the Vertex LE. The performance should beat pretty much everything else in most cases, at a lower price, hopefully. 50Gb is smaller than I wanted to go, but for that kind of performance I'd buy one for the right price.
