So I've noticed that by "streaming" my movies from my gaming rig to my HTPC with XBMC over Gigabit is a horrible idea. Enough lag and audio sync problems to notice. Should I just move my 1TB hard drive back to my HTPC or should I look into why my Ethernet speed is so slow?
I just did a transfer test with a 6GB movie and found that the average transfer speed was 40MB/sec. Is this normal? |

After trying Boxee out again, I've decided to try and get it working properly. Boxee offers the plugins right out of the box and the wifey enjoys them. My remote wouldn't work properly on my HTPC after using EventGhost and messing around with other apps, so I decided to wipe the PC clean and start over. Should be back up in 30 mins!

Good stuff guys.
Use alot of the apps you guys are using and i have real good results with media cerver and even stream to my iphone with a air video app off itunes store too. Gigabit ethernet is a must to get good streaming with high def video too. Where can i get sources in xbmc for video? off the net?
