Yes, that's probably just ad-blocking issues.

Chrome renders everything correctly for me, more so than any other browser except Opera.

Nah mate , i don't use any , i don't care about ad's. besides it keeps sites running, provided there are no malicious intentions i don't care.

You can configure Privoxy with a simple ini file. Simply allow nvnews.
