Default CS:S Beta?

Sorry if this is in wrong section

Quote:
Valve will soon release a beta opportunity for Counter-Strike: Source. This beta allegedly includes a major overhaul to the game, specifically when it comes to the use of the Source engine. At present it is assumed that this beta will find Counter-Strike: Source running on the latest build of the engine but there are no guarantees on this. Previously, it was mentioned that Valve was working on bringing the game to the Orange Box build of Source, but that has come and gone and with Left 4 Dead 2 being the latest build of the engine, it is quite possible we will see Counter-Strike on this build. Again, no guarantees at this.

this should be interesting

I haven't played CounterStrike Source in a long time. I like the game, I just don't like the many servers that force you to download their user made crap before you can join in and play. But if they do update it with the latest Orange Box engine, then I may consider reinstalling it and giving it another shot.

I wish it had iron sights... I pretty much have to have that option in all FPS games now .

Same here, any game without it just feels stupid. It's a shame because I used to enjoy all games without it.

Lol yeah... first game I can remember that required me to use iron sights was the mod, Red Orchestra, for Unreal Tournament 2k3 (or maybe 2k4, I forget) and ever since then I want them always .

Yea not really, they keep updating it so it works great, looks great. Why would they retire it? Maybe you would feel better if they renamed it.
