Both TVs are JVC LCD TVs.
One is 42" One is 32" I am using ubuntu 9.10 on two systems. a Zotac ITX9300-wifi Intel board and a HP Mini 311 Ion laptop Both systems experience the same problems. Started out using the std nvidia-glx-185 on the ubuntu repo. Everything works on both TVs, for both audio and video on hdmi output When the 190 driver came out, upgraded on Zotac board. Audio on the 42" TV no longer works. [Actually got JVC to replace the HDMI i/o module on the TV without success] However, the same system and 190 drivers works on the 32" TV for both video and audio. then I tried it on my ION laptop... same results. playback using speakertest speakertest -D plughw:0,3 HDMI audio works on both TV when on glx-185 no HDMI audio on 42" TV when upgraded to glx-190. tried the nvidia ppa repo and even on 195, same happens.. using the 185 driver off the nvidia ppa works for the audio though.. advise? |

I upgraded to ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx... the problem still remains..
and whats worse, I am unable to downgrade to 185 driver now..ubuntu repositories default to the most recent driver. the issue: driver versions above 185, causes 1 out of the 2 LCD TV to have no hdmi audio... Using 185 nvidia drivers, both tv have audio from the hdmi in [from the ION notebook mini 311]. And this happens for my other desktop with GF9300 [ hdmi ].. clearly its an driver issue... just wanna find out if there are others with similar issues |
