Guys, lets not get carried away here. Just because there have been 16 known reports of dead cards, it doesn't mean the whole run of cards are defective. There are thousands out there.

It's not from this forum, that's for sure. I haven't read of anyone here who has had to RMA there card. So it is either from all sales around the globe, or it's just BS.

I just had another GTX 480 card dying yesterday.
Granted, it was heavily used (for long consecutive hours -- but temperature never raised above 85 deg.) Am I still the only one? Ozo. [Edit] As explained later in this thread, this card was not dead. The instability seemed to come from a bad use (or a bug) of NVAPI while trying to disable Clock Throttling. After reverting to default settings, the stability problem was gone. |
