I also need xrandr support and especially xbacklight support. It would be one of the workaround having backlight management working under linux !

Has somebody already seen people from nvidia on this forum ?

Any news yet? Last December they said they were working on it, but it is now almost October.

I would also love xrandr support, since I believe KDE can handle that slightly better than it can TwinView.

Question Re: NVidia and XRandR 1.2

Is there still no support for XRandR in the latest 256.xx series?!

Here's a better question. Is there any reason to believe nVidia is actually working on Xrandr support for their proprietary driver. I haven't seen a word from them on the issue since 2008.

I think the message here is, if you're going to need independent rotation of multiple heads on X, don't buy nVidia.

No, in fact in an interview last year they flat-out said that they never had any real plans or motivation to implement it. So we very well may never see it.
