It will be interesting, that's for sure. Just doing some quick guesswork at most it could be 50% faster than a GTX 480 if the numbers are correct. Nvidia lists the GTX 480 as a 250W max output, so 50% more power usage would give you the maximum 375W possible. If they can lower the clock speeds and get the power draw per chip down, then maybe they can squeeze more out of it. Otherwise I'd have to guess with overhead 40% increase would be the bar for them to shoot for. I just really don't know how they would be able to dissipate that much heat with a dual slot cooler.

EDIT: Well then again, I really don't know if Nvidia's numbers are quite right.

GTX 275 = 219W
GTX 295 = 289W

But looking at a review Fermi draws almost as much power than a GTX 295 in furmark, and more power in some games.

Yep. Nothing like making an 800-watt PSU run away in fear because of a couple of video cards that would suck the life out of it.

What more do you need than better performance, DX11, and the ability to use higher AA with less of a hit?

480 > 295

1. Sell the 295.
2. Put the money towards the 480.
3. Profit.
