with my 285 and 197.45 it worked fine but now it's really slow so i'm out of ideas.
I'm pretty certain they do. My first 480 driver was actually the 197.41, which I believe was the first "Fermi" driver.

Have you tried uninstalling nVidia drivers completely first? I haven't rolled back to older drivers for some time, but this might be the reason...

yeah i always Completely clean out older drivers first

well here is the results

197.75=slideshow

257.75=went in to editor and could play smooth, loaded into the first mission and it was smooth until i got to land then it went to 2 FPS

197.41=installed from Disc that came with my card, loaded up Arma 2,and instant slideshow just placing one playable soldier on utes.

i'll try updating to 197.45 and see if anything changes.

Hey Bro - I had some trouble installing a set recently, here's what I had to do for a good, full install.

Uninstall via control panel.
boot to safe mode and run driversweeper.
still in safe mode, run ccleaner registry tool and remove the nvidia keys it finds.
reboot and install nvidia drivers.

now here's the kicker - physx installed broken for me.

I had to uninstall phsyx via control panel, then reinstall the physx package downloaded from nvidia.

I don't have Arma 2, but this fixed all the crashes and lockups I was having in several other games for me.

Hope it works for you brother...

EDIT: this was with the 257.15s btw

I've had this happen before (not with the 480s but with 280s). Uninstalling PhysX and Nvidia's video drivers and then using driver sweeper and finally reinstalling everything fixed it for me (obviously with the requisite reboots in between).

And just to be clear, are you using 275.15? There were unofficial versions 257.07 and 257.76 but they were no good for gaming from what I've read.

Yes, 257.15 (edited version # typo). The reboots are a hassle, but so far it's worth it. Smooth game play, no crashes and great DX11 effects - it's all I ask for.

Well i just tryed your advice Bro,

this is with 257.15

I went into Arma 2 and it was smooth for about a minute where it had been 2FPS,but then it started doing graphics glitches like the one in this pic:

after i tryed upping the fan speed to 70% incase it was not cooling the card.

But i just did the benchmark and Got average FPS=15 with my 285 i got 38FPS

I'm stumped because in Alien vs predator&Batman it's flawless performance

i'll test some other games like Dirt 2 and Metro

Cause it could just be Arma 2 not liking my card.

Also Antivirus was off during the test

This may be the "Nail in the XP coffin for me" now i need to get Windows 7[not that i'm complaining about upgrading ]

ArmA 2 can be a strange animal. Have you tried the -winxp switch in the command line? Are you running Vista or XP?

Wow, that's horrible LT. Wish I had the game to test...hope you're able to get it sorted out. If I run across tips on it I'll post them here.
