For 3D Vision, does the game you are playing have to support 3D or can you run any game in 3D? If you can run any game in 3D, how does the computer "translate" 2D into 3D?
Lastly, when running 3D Vision, do you take a performance hit? If so, how much?

From my understand the game needs to be at least DX9 and up. So pretty much all the games that have been released in the last couple of years. That's not to say that they all will run or without some issues. But everything I have rested does run in 3D. Once you have gone 3D, you'll never go back.
![]() It really is that cool. OpenGL doesn't work as of yet. It is supposed to be sorted in a driver update in the future.

Thanks.
Are there games that are actually "designed" for 3D and don't rely on the computer to convert 2D to 3D?

Below is a list of games and they're ranked as to how well they support it.

There is no conversion per se as the games are already 3D and the information is all there. It is not like watching a movie that was 2D and then gets converted and it looks like cardboard layers...not at all...games are far more amazing than the best Avatar could do at the theater. 3D ready means you are getting a game with not issues like some post processing may look wrong because it only shows on one eye, or smoke showing at screen level, things like that. Mostly shadows is the thing non ready games have issues with but the fact that you can take any game pretty much and it is already on 3D makes it just too cool and like someone said, after 3D there is no going back ![]()

Nothing beats the immersion of playing a first person shooter or RPG like F.E.A.R. and Oblivion in 3D...

Ok guys I also have a question about Nvidia Surround Vision. Can you just use 3 monitors like ATI's eyefinity technology and not use 3D?

Yes, you just need 2 graphics cards to do so.

That's fine, and yeah I'm sure. It's essentially nvidia 3d surround technology, only you don't turn on 3d.
