I gave NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-256.25 a try and noticed an issue with nvidia-settings. Attempting to access the "Thermal Settings" menu crashes the program with a floating point exception. The dmesg out put is
nvidia-settings[15081] trap divide error ip:42a70d sp:7fffaf554ca0 error:0 in nvidia-settings[400000+b7000] Otherwise the driver seems to work fine. |

What Linux distribution are you using? I'm having no issues with nvidia-settings.

This is on Ubuntu 8.10 with Linux 2.6.31-14-generic #48 SMP Sat May 22 12:49:44 CEST 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux. I never encountered that problem before.

Thanks. Could you please run it in GDB using "gdb nvidia-settings", then when it crashes, run the "backtrace full" command and attach the output?

The gdb backtrace is appended (there was no core dump).

Hello,
same problem here with new nvidia-settings, running Gentoo, Kernel 2.6.33-tuxonice-r2, x86_64. However, as I have no debug symbols compiled into my libraries, a backtrace would probably be quite useless - if you want it nevertheless, I can provide it of course. |

Thanks, guys. We've tracked down the problem and a bug is filed.
