so a $2000 macbook cant run portal it seems. might be drivers that mac needs to work on or did all the mac fans call mac about this yet? i thought only schools used mac till i seen people walking out of bestbuy. wanted to cry really

seriously most people who own Macs don't actually use them for anything other than web browsing and ornamental purposes. and to show people all the "cool feautures" that are only good for showing to people as cool features.

Steam FTW. If the game is not on Steam I won't get it. I love the ability to install/uninstall without worrying about losing boxes, manuals, cd keys, etc. Steam works, and makes it simple.

Lol. I use windows for work but I jaw a MacBook for personal use. It's great and I didn't get it for ornamental purposes.

Valve said Mac games make up 11 percent of Steam purchases since the launch and that was few weeks ago. I'd say it's a success.

For some reason, some games, i.e. those by Rockstar, is not available on Steam in my area but is available as retail (steam hid GTA4 as soon as I signed up and told it that I'm in Malaysia, but the game is sold at stores locally over here). So I guess that's my only choice.

Ninja edit: It seems that R* has vanished off steam completely. It's not even showing when I visited the website. Not sure if it's only my IP or if something is going on.

Otoh, Steam is a great way to get Valve and Indie games.

I'd vote "depends on situation", but that isn't in the list.

I think people can still gift you the games if you know anyone in another region.

retail stores might have decided to not follow the rule, since they still want the sales. but steam has to follow the rules or could possibly be banned from the country all together.

Well, thing about Malaysia is, the politicians all seem keen on stepping over each other. For all I know the ban could've been overruled a few days after it's signed- it has happened before. Either that, or it's the R* price discrimination thing that's also plaguing Australia. After all, many of the PC games on Malaysian shelves seems to be sourced from Australia.
