Capt check your core clocks on your card. I am noticing my card coming out of idle state for a few seconds and then down clocking while I just web browse its really weird. It's a random spike, one second its a 50mhz, the next its at 700mhz and drops right back down to 50mhz.

Here is an example... I am just web browsing, looking at PC Parts.

I have noticed mine doing this too while web browsing no spikes in fan speed though because heat is not effected enough to kick the fan up. Captn are us using the latest beta for Afterburner? Could the spikes while just web browsing be Windows taking advantage of the CUDA?

On a total side note Captn..... That is a hell of an overclock; is the card running stable at those settings? Is it liquid cooled? Very Impressive!!

Maybe the GPU thought it was still in your old case.

Eh, I did have some stability issues in some games, so I did lower the clocks to more conservative levels. I think a little more voltage would have made it rock solid, but I want to get my fan issue sorted out before I start pushing it too far.

I was running it at 750/1500/1800 for a while, which is still a 20% overclock, but its much more conservative.

Oh, and I am using the latest "beta 6" of afterburner, but it did this with the previous version as well.

Grr... just did it again while simply browsing the web. I was on the same site for at least half an hour and out of nowhere the fan just maxed out for a few seconds and went back to normal.

It scared the crap out of me.

Those fonts are hard to render, man.

while webbrowsing, does it happen when you enter site with flash? remember flash is GPU accelerated, that could cause the GPU spike.

That would make sense for me. I play web based games that are run by Flash. I will check it out....

That's likely.

Especially with video playback on websites.

I wish my problem could be explained that way though.

I'd RMA the card. I'm running mine at a higher clock with more voltage and don't get anything like this.
