OK guys, I've got it
![]() It's not Gainward nor Asus... A fresh new batch arrived from Leadtek, so I bought a Winfast GTX 480 also because upon researching with the dealer, the cards had the latest BIOS - 70.00.21.00.02.So tonight when I get home I'll put in my system and "fire it up" ![]() Hopefully my case fans will be enough - 6 x 120 mm & 1 x 140 mm (CM690 case). I'll be back with first thoughts. |

Not quite true, there is the Zotac Amp and the water cooled editions.

Yep, if you've got room for it, try the Zotac AMP.
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Z...dition/32.html Loads @ 75C @ 800 on the core. Someone with good air flow would likely see better.

OK, I installed in my rig last night. All I can say is WOW
![]() Contrary to what it said on the card sticker, the BIOS version is 70.00.1A.00.02... but the card rocks! I can't understand the bad press these cards have received. Mine is no louder than my older GTX 280, and the idle temps are actually better: 45 to 47 for the 480 vs. 50-52 for the GTX 280. I tested it in furmark / msi kombustor: temps went to 92-94 C, then dropped to 90-91 with fan on Auto (80%). In games, temps range from mid 70s to mid 80s, again with fan on Auto (fan didn't rise over 65%). I tested the card with no A/C, so the room temp was around 26 to 28 degrees Celsius. |

I thought the last Gainward card I was able to get was a 5900. I think you could get the 6xxx series if you could import but they were extremely rare
