I don't think it really matters. I have a PS3 and 360 hooked up to both my bedroom (LCD) and Living Room (Plasma) and it's hard to tell the difference. I give a slight edge to plasma when it comes to color and contrast. My LCD seems to be a bit sharper and so it's more fitting for a bedroom setting where your closer to your TV. Again these differences are slight.

Personally I would be more concerned about the proper size TV. You want to be careful and buy a TV that's fitting for your viewing distance.

Isn't plasma the worst possible choice for gaming, due to burn-in?

Never had any problem with burn-ins. I have my samsung set to move the picture a pixel or so every so often. Maybe that's why I never had problems.

I also game on a plasma and can't say I have ever noticed any burn-in though I would not recommend one if you're going to be using it in a very bright room with lots of windows and such as glare can be a little of an issue.
But gaming is one of the areas I think plasma excels at since there is no motion blur. Having said that I think you will be very hard pressed to beat this plasma on size, price, and especially picture quality.

I am playing 360 on my display 226bw. 22"

But I am sometimes hooking up in a living room where is full 1080p Sony 42" and it looks crisp and good overall
