the graphics "if it was in real time" looks better in the 3D trailer, and more what we PC users should expect

It looks great, but has taken a different direction to the original Crysis. This looks very scripted. Yes, Crysis was scripted too, but not as much as the above footage. It should still be an excellent game, just more like every other shooter out there. Hopefully it will still have some aspects of freedom that define it a little.

The standard trailer appears to be the console version... shooters suck with a joystick. I sure hope that's not what the PC version looks like. It would be pretty lame if they put out a sequel to Crysis 3 years later and the graphics were less than the original.

Well that's not going to happen so you should stop worrying.

I'm quite impressed with how good it looks on consoles. Some of the particle/smoke effects look a bit lame but at the same time others look quite good.

The game looks good on consoles. I don't see the disappointment here. I am pretty sure the PC version will look much better. I have faith in Crytek on this one.

Pre-recorded from Xbox footage. The gameplay itself had all 360 control button indicators in the game.

Anyways, the game looks awesome and it's pretty apparent that they've done a LOT of work on the engine to get it looking that good and having it run that smoothly on the 360.

given the scalability of the engine, it'll be interesting to see if they are able to get away with more detail and stuff on the PS3 port of the game or if they just leave it as is. My gut feeling is that it'll be left alone to not steal thunder away from the 360 given that MS and Crytek just inked a new deal.

All that being said, I'll still be getting it on pc. I also think that Cevat Yerli doesn't quite understand what "sandbox" truly is. giving the player a few more ways to kill whatever the game's script throws at them is NOT SANDBOX. The mere fact that there are "levels" tells me that it's not a sandbox. Fallout, oblivion, stalker, GTA, Red Dead, etc are sandbox becuase you can go anywhere at any time.

/rant

that said, I don't have a problem with linear games if they're decent. I actually enjoyed SP MW2 despite being incredibly (well) scripted. With any luck, the new writer for crysis 2 can pull out a really great story for the game.

Pay attention to the video. Same level, same IQ, different gameplay/movements (and no crash this time ). So no, it is not pre-recorder footage. It's PC footage, whether it is maxed out or not. Pay also attention that when it crashes in the previous video, there isn't any media player icon (which would explain the video format). And let's be honest, they wouldn't go to E3 to simply show pre-recorded videos . And like many games (and with Crysis1), when you use the X360 controller, you get button indicators only!

Too bad the video quality sucks. The game looks great, but not pre-rendered great. I wonder how good this game would have looked if it weren't for the whole console dilemma.

Haven't watched the video - I remember that deluge of media with the first game.

All I can really say is I loved the first game and can only hope the second measures up.
