This looks like if activision's heavy gear and smith and tinker's mechwarrior had a love child. Never played the rpg style older games though that were out for the consoles. Got it preordered for pc coming sept 14,2010.

I might really enjoy this. Heavy Gear 1&2 where awesome IMO. I've been playing the crap out of MWLL 3.0.

someone might want to confirm this. But mechwarrior for the pc being worked on right now has some legal issues. I was told that smith and tinker were being sued after all these years by the robotech creators and told to modify their mechs so not to look similar to robotech ones!
