Are you able to at least access Grub? maybe post your boot config?

If I was you, I'd join the Ubuntu forums. It's great for new Ubuntu users and you'll get a lot of help there. It's friendly too.

I've been a member there since 2006. It's definitely a good place for new users and it's a pretty busy forum.

the highlighted partition 105gb is windows 7 , but there is no boot option for it.
Ubuntu just loads and ignores windows 7.

If anyone knows , then i would be grateful. other wise no stress

I think a quick manual edit to GRUB should fix it bro.

Look in boot/grub/ for the grub.cfg file. That should have all your available boot options. If you see the option for windows, make sure it isn't commented out, usually with a # preceding the line.

Here's a pretty good guide. The OP covered a lot of options.

Just as an aside - this is why I always use the bios to switch between OSes.

Give me a bootloader to play with and I will absolutely murder it.
