The recently-released Geforce GTX 465 was released May 31st with little fanfare, in part due to its $279 price tag. Reviews across the net showed it performing on-par to slightly-better than the HD 5830 in most gaming applications, while pulling decisively ahead in a few games such as Metro 2033. With the HD 5830 now sitting at just above the $200 mark, many have thought that NVIDIA needs to do something, and quick, before the entire entry-level enthusiast market share is lost to ATI.
One very recent step in the right direction to report - EVGA's GTX 465 is available at Newegg for a substantially lower price than what it was previously available at - $249. While this does not completely close the gap between it and the HD 5830, it does make the GTX 465 a more attractive buy. Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130555

Hmm, Wonder how these compare to a GTX 260?
I can get a GTX 465 here in the UK for £216.

It is faster then a GTX 285 in nearly all cases when overclocked ,and they overclock pretty good .But I would have spend $50 more and got a GTX 470.In some cases it is just $30 more .I got a good deal at amazon.com on the MSI GTX 470 for $279,I see they done went back up .
