have you tried raising your north bridge voltage? if you can hit 3.2 on stock voltage that chip should OC like a mofo! maybe your mobo is holding you back ...

I don't think that raising any other voltage would help since I am getting an error on 1 of the 4 cores.

how are you cooling your cpu. stock heatsink, or good aftermarket one? my q6600 needs 1.5v for 3.4, and 1.7v for 3.6. you should be able to do 1.5v with a good air cooler ...

I use the Corsair H5O. Isn't the max voltage for the q6600 1.5? I have the G0 SLACR or whatever it's called.

1.5 is the max intel recommends. imo 1.6 is safe enough if you can keep the cpu under 70c loaded.

usually if your close to being stable only one core will error. keep upping the vcore untill that last core is stable too, unless you need a rediculous amount. you should be ok up to 1.6ish

Seriously? I had no idea that is why these errors occur. Can this kind of error (error in 1 core in occt or prime95 for example) from heat? Or is that just that the cpu is not getting enough juice?

Edit:
I upped the vcore to 1.49, cuz 1.47 or so gave me errors in the first couple of minutes. Now I'm 45 minutes in on auto OCCT and no errors. Can I consider that success? Max temp is 71, which went down to 68 on two of the cores, others are 67-8. What do I need to keep in mind now, and how to be alert?

Not so much to do with it but you might want to think about adding a fan if you are raising your fsb, If you are , I dont know how your mobo works...

45 mins of OCCT I would say is enough to say its stable, In my book running for 48 hours will do more harm than good.

1 hour of OCCT with no errors, so I guess I'm finally good to be on 3.6 then? In CPUZ It says I got my vcore on 1.47 (bios is on 1.49), and while on load it is 1.41 or so, certainly below 1.45 (thats after vdroop correct?). I'm with 9x400, so will fans really help? I could never imagine how 40mm fans help...

imho one hour of OCCT is stable enough. the best test ive found lately for a cpu is BFBC2 believe it or not. got it? at one point i thought my cpu was stable, and was according to OCCT, Intel Burn Test, and Prime95, but kept crashing playing BC2 until i upped my vcore a tad ...
