Default 32 bit to 64 bit -- XP to Win7

Going to be making the switch to Windows 7 from XP soon. As well as going from 32 to 64. My main concern is the loss of functionality with some programs.

Now, I have no idea what programs might lose functionality but that is the great thing about public forums. Especially one such as nVNews. Did anyone run into issues with day to day use?

The only slight problem I have found is with the Stardock Object Dock and Win 7 64 bit. If I place a folder in the dock, some of the programs will not start from it.
Other than that, no problems.

Hmm, that is unfortunate. My desktops are normally boring and bland so one of my projects on this next format is to spice it up a bit and Object Dock was something I planned on toying around with. However, it looks like the program is used heavily enough for bugs like that to be ironed out so something that will probably be fixed in the near future.

I haven't run into any problems gaming as of yet. If you are a heavy productivity user in win xp, you may want to get at least the pro version of win 7. That way, you can d/l windows xp mode for compatibility. They have even made windows xp mode in such a way that you don't need hardware virtualization anymore in your cpu to run it. In other words, they made a patch on the windows xp mode page to change it so no hardware virtualization anymore.

I've been using the ObjectDock 2 beta, no problems with it here.

Ok, I didn't notice they had a beta out and with 64 bit support, the bad thing is you have to pay for it. I'll wait till it's out of beta and hopefully it will be free like the older version is.
